Mr. Gekht received his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he was a Fritz Burns Scholar (awarded to the top-ranked first-year law student), a Loyola Scholar, and appeared on the Dean’s Honor List, and received First Honors in Advanced Legal Research. He matriculated, Magna Cum Laude, from Chapman University College/Brandman University with a BBA in Accounting.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Gekht worked as a forensic accountant and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, licensed in 2009 by the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, and has been qualified as an expert in Los Angeles Superior Court, Central District.

Mr. Gekht has worked in family law since 1998, and has assisted in the preparation of hundreds of family law cases, including assisting with court and private trials, court-appointed and private mediation, pre-and post-judgment litigation and mediation, drafting and negotiating prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements, and complex family law cases that involved gross cashflow computation, business and asset valuation and distribution, child and spousal support calculation, retirement benefit computation, stock, bond and stock option valuation and distribution, and child custody and paternity determination.

Mr. Gekht has appeared as a guest, commentator or author in various media outlets, including NPR’s Take-Two and the Los Angeles Business Journal. He is the recipient of the City of Beverly Hills Mayors Award for Excellence in Communication for his writing for the Beverly Hills Courier newspaper, where he was a featured business columnist.

He has interned under Honorable Judith Stein, Ret. and under former Mayor Richard Stone at the Law Offices of Stone & Hiles in Beverly Hills, CA.

Mr. Gekht’s civic involvement is highlighted by a double-term tenure as President of the Board of Directors of the LAGLCC, a 501(c)(6) non-profit, founding the Community Service Program for the Beverly Hills Unified School district and volunteering with the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law and the Lange Foundation, an animal care non-profit.

Raised in Los Angeles, Mr. Gekht is fluent in Russian and conversational Spanish.
